User Notes:

  • The login for CEFCU Mobile Banking includes Multi-Factor Authentication, so you will see your security image and phrase and may also receive a challenge question. These are the same ones selected when you set up your On-Line Banking account access.
  • It is important to call CEFCU with questions about confidential account information. You may email CEFCU with general questions.

How do I activate (enroll in) CEFCU Mobile Banking?

You will activate CEFCU Mobile Banking using your main CEFCU On-Line login ID and password. This way, you can immediately deactivate CEFCU Mobile Banking if a device is ever lost or stolen.

Here’s how to activate CEFCU Mobile Banking:

  1. Log on to CEFCU On-Line from the main CEFCU website (cefcu.com). (If you’re prompted to choose the mobile website, m.cefcu.com, DO NOT select this option. Instead, use the main web page.)
  2. Click the Mobile tab. This will take you to an enrollment screen. Click the Mobile tab (far right on main CEFCU On-Line navigation). This will take you to a setup screen.
  3. Create your Mobile Login ID. The Login ID must be between 8 and 10 numbers and/or letters; spaces or special characters cannot be used. NOTE: The Mobile Banking login is not case- sensitive. And, your Mobile Login ID may be the same as your CEFCU On-Line Login ID, but it does not HAVE to be the same.
  4. Enter the Mobile Phone Number. The Mobile Phone Number should be 10 digits and not contain any spaces or special characters; if you will use CEFCU Mobile Banking using a tablet, you may use a home or cell phone number.
  5. Create a Mobile Password. Your Mobile Banking password must contain 5–12 numbers and/or letters; spaces or special characters cannot be used. Note: The Mobile Banking Password is not case-sensitive.
  6. Click Preview. A verification message will appear, allowing you to Edit your information or Submit if all the information is correct. After you click Submit, you’ll receive confirmation that your activation was successful.

I’m a business member. Do I have to do anything different?

No, the process for business members is the same. You will activate access to CEFCU Mobile Banking within CEFCU On-Line.

Here’s how to activate CEFCU Mobile Banking:

  1. Log on to CEFCU On-Line from the main CEFCU website (cefcu.com). (If you’re prompted to choose the mobile website, m.cefcu.com, DO NOT select this option. Instead, use the main web page.)

Do I need to “nickname” my accounts? What does this mean?

For enhanced security, CEFCU Mobile Banking does not display account numbers. To help you tell the difference between different accounts, you can “nickname” them using CEFCU On-Line. This will make CEFCU Mobile Banking much easier to use.

To do this:

  1. Log in to CEFCU On-Line using the main CEFCU website (cefcu.com).
  2. Choose Preferences from the Home tab.
  3. Select Change Account Preferences, and under the Nickname column, type in the nicknames you would like.
  4. Click on Preview and then click Submit.

Can I send CEFCU a text message?

It is important to note that CEFCU staff cannot receive or respond to text messages from members. Please use email for general questions, or contact CEFCU for questions which pertain to confidential account information.

What can I do with CEFCU Mobile Banking?

With CEFCU’s Mobile Banking, you can initiate and confirm transfers, check balances and account activity, pay bills, and find locations of free CEFCU (Money Center 24®) and CO-OP ATMs, CEFCU Member Centers, and shared branches across the United States and throughout the world.

Where can I get the CEFCU Mobile Banking app?

CEFCU Mobile Banking is accessible using Apple® (iOS) devices, Android, BlackBerry® smartphones, or Palm® Pre devices. Apple iPhone®, iPad®, or iPod® Touch users may also download CEFCU’s free Mobile Banking app in the Apple® App Store.

How much does it cost to use CEFCU Mobile Banking?

CEFCU Mobile Banking is a free service. The iPhone app is available for free download, as well.

Can I pay bills using CEFCU Mobile Banking?

You can pay bills using CEFCU Mobile Banking provided you are already enrolled in CEFCU Bill Pay.

How do I enroll in CEFCU Bill Pay?

To enroll in CEFCU Bill Pay, log in to CEFCU On-Line from the main CEFCU website (cefcu.com). Select the Payments tab, and choose Bill Pay. Follow the onscreen instructions to sign up for CEFCU Bill Pay.

NOTE: You MUST have a CEFCU Checking account to use CEFCU Bill Pay.

What kind of mobile device do I need for Mobile Banking?

CEFCU Mobile Banking uses the browser on web-enabled cell phones. Compatible devices include Android, BlackBerry smartphones, Palm Pre, and Apple (iOS) devices. Apple iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch users may also download CEFCU’s free Mobile Banking app in the Apple App Store.

How do I know I’m downloading the right Mobile Banking app?

Only download apps from a reputable resource. CEFCU’s Mobile Banking App for iOS is available exclusively in the Apple App Store.

I have an Android device. Can I still use CEFCU Mobile Banking?

Yes. Although no Android app is available at this time, you can use the browser on your Android smartphone to access CEFCU Mobile Banking. An Android app may be available at a later date.

To make it easier to access CEFCU Mobile Banking, you may want to set up an app icon. Here’s how:

  1. Visit m.cefcu.com.
  2. Select the Menu key, then select Add Bookmark.
  3. Exit your browser and click and hold on your screen.
  4. Click Shortcuts, Bookmark, then the CEFCU Mobile Banking bookmark; and the icon will save to your screen.

I don’t have an iPhone. Does CEFCU have a Mobile Banking option available for me?

Yes. You can use the web browser on your Android or BlackBerry smartphone, or Palm Pre device to access CEFCU Mobile Banking. Apps for other mobile devices are being evaluated and may be available at a later date.
To make it easier to access CEFCU Mobile Banking, you may want to set up an “app icon.” Here’s how:

Android Users:

  1. Visit m.cefcu.com.
  2. Select the Menu key, then select Add Bookmark.
  3. Exit your browser and click and hold on your screen.

Is CEFCU Mobile Banking secure?

CEFCU Mobile Banking is secure. It uses Multifactor Authentication (MFA), which means there is a two- screen login process: you’ll enter your User ID on one screen, and your Mobile Banking password on the next. CEFCU Mobile Banking also uses authentication identifiers – such as challenge questions, an image, and a phrase –to verify an identity. CEFCU Mobile Banking uses the same security information you have chosen on CEFCU On-Line.

In addition to MFA, CEFCU Mobile Banking uses security strategies including:

  • Displaying account information using nicknames, not account numbers. Learn how to set up nicknames.
  • No detailed personal information is displayed.
  • CEFCU Mobile Banking sessions end when the app or browser window is closed.
  • No user names or passwords are stored.

What do I do if my mobile device is lost or stolen?

For protection, CEFCU Mobile Banking enables you to deactivate Mobile Banking in the event your mobile device is lost or stolen. Here’s how:

  1. Log in to CEFCU On-Line using the main CEFCU website cefcu.com)
  2. Click the Mobile tab (at the right of the menu bar at the top).
  3. Click the word Update where it follows “Enrollment Status: Enrolled”
  4. You’ll be prompted to confirm your status change.
  5. Click Submit.

In addition, remember to contact your mobile service provider to report your device as lost or stolen. You can reactivate CEFCU Mobile Banking using the same steps.

How can information, like a new phone with different phone number, be updated?

All you need to do is log in to CEFCU On-Line (using the main CEFCU website cefcu.com) and click the Mobile tab. Just click the Update link next to your mobile number (or other information), and complete/confirm the new information using the online form.

I see two Checking accounts (loans, etc.) when I’m logged in to CEFCU Mobile Banking. How can I tell them apart?

For enhanced security, CEFCU Mobile Banking does not display account numbers. To help you tell the difference between different accounts, you can nickname them using CEFCU On-Line. This will make CEFCU Mobile Banking much easier to use. To do this:

  1. Log in to CEFCU On-Line using the main CEFCU website (cefcu.com).
  2. Choose Preferences from the Home tab.
  3. Select Change Account Preferences, and under the Nickname column, type in the nicknames you would like.
  4. Click on Preview and then click Submit.

If I forget or want to change my Login ID for CEFCU Mobile Banking, what do I do?

You can reset your Mobile Banking Password using your main CEFCU On-Line login. Here’s how:

  1. Log in to CEFCU On-Line using the main CEFCU website (cefcu.com).
  2. Select the Mobile tab.
  3. Click on Update (to the right of Mobile Banking Password).
  4. Enter your new Mobile Banking Password using the online form. Your Mobile Banking password is not case-sensitive and must contain 5–12 numbers and/or letters; spaces or special characters cannot be used.
  5. Click on Preview and then click Submit.

Can I change my Mobile Banking Password using my mobile device? How do I do this?

You can change your Mobile Banking Password without logging in to the desktop version of CEFCU On- Line. Here’s how:

  1. Go to Mobile Banking: open the app, or click Mobile Banking from the main page at m.cefcu.com.
  2. Enter your Mobile Login ID.
  3. Answer the Challenge Question, if prompted.
  4. Enter your current Mobile Banking Password.
  5. Select Main Menu.
  6. Select Change Password.
  7. Enter your current Mobile Banking Password, enter a new Mobile Banking Password, and confirm the new Mobile Banking Password. Your Mobile Banking password is not case-sensitive and must contain 5–12 numbers and/or letters; spaces or special characters cannot be used.
  8. Click on Submit.

Can I access CEFCU Mobile Banking from more than one device at a time?

Yes, you can have a CEFCU Mobile Banking session open on multiple devices at the same time.

How do I end my CEFCU Mobile Banking session?

Select Log Out in the upper right corner when you have completed your Mobile Banking activities. Sessions also end when an app or browser is closed. Additionally, to protect your account, your CEFCU Mobile Banking session will end after 15 minutes of inactivity
