Scammers are threatening consumers and businesses with shutting off utilities. Acting as utility representatives, they call, email, and go door to door.

Legitimate representatives will not ask for immediate payment in cash or by credit/debit card, and they won’t ask for access to your accounts.

Ignore these requests for payment and do not allow anyone in your home or business unless you have made an appointment with the utility. Contact the utility directly about suspicious activities.
